LK Apartment
LK Apartment
2026
This charming 1980s walk-up apartment is revitalised with generosity anchoring the design concept. Spaces are proportioned to breathe; rather than maximising enclosure, the design celebrates openness and fluidity.
The long, linear layout is redefined as a gentle spatial procession inspired by the enfilade where rooms unfold one into another without corridors. Movement becomes rhythmic and continuous, flowing naturally through a sequence of framed thresholds.
A series of dark timber frames defines each living zone. Softly clad and subtly tilted, they articulate thresholds while appearing inviting and visually intertwined with the whole. Their angled forms guide views along the apartment’s length creating moments of pause, reveal, and connection, most notably towards the central air well. Here, curated landscaping transforms the void into a luminous heart of the home.
Glass blocks, placed at strategic points, draw light deep into the interior. Their translucent texture diffuses daylight into a gentle glow, dissolving shadows while allowing privacy and openness to coexist. Light becomes the binding element that unifies the home.
The result is a contemporary domestic landscape that is layered, luminous, and quietly poetic. A home where frames choreograph space, and light completes it.
